From June 17-21, 2024, our church transformed into a vibrant underwater world for our Scuba Vacation Bible School, where 63 children and 18 youth volunteers, supported by numerous dedicated adult volunteers, embarked on a deep-sea adventure to discover the ever-flowing, never-ending love of God.

 

Highlights from the week include:

Immersive Experiences: At Scuba VBS, children were immersed in God’s Word, learning about living water and what it means to have a relationship with God. A standout moment was the Bible adventure about Jonah and the whale, where participants experienced what it might have been like to be inside a whale. This hands-on activity helped children understand Jonah’s story, from disobedience to obedience to God’s call.

 

Engaging Activities: The week was filled with catchy songs, themed snacks, exciting games, creative crafts, and engaging skits. One of the favorite activities was “swimming” through Harris Hall, made possible by our strong volunteers.

 

Mission Outreach: Our VBS participants raised over $300 for Heifer International, contributing to projects that help families in impoverished areas improve their health through water conservation and sustainable practices. Additionally, the kids “fed the fish” (an inflatable fish pool with a wide-open mouth to feed!) by donating non-perishable food items to Chagrin Falls Community Park.

Throughout the week, our call to worship echoed a powerful message: God is a friend who’s real, God is a friend who loves, God is a friend who can be trusted, God is a friend who is forever, and God is a friend for everyone.
